McKenzie Kurtz
actor | singer | dancer
McKenzie Kurtz is currently starring as Glinda in Broadway’s Wicked. She made her Broadway debut as Princess Anna in FROZEN in February of 2020.
Most recently, and prior to her current role in Wicked, she appeared in NBC’s Annie Live! as the Star-to-Be, and as “Heather” in Marvel’s new television series SHE HULK on Disney+. In the fall of 2021, she performed in the out-of-town tryout of TRADING PLACES directed by Kenny Leon.
She graduated from the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance with a BFA in Musical Theatre in 2019. Prior roles include Ariel in FOOTLOOSE directed by Christian Borle at The Muny. Shortly after, she traveled to Williamstown Theatre Festival where she played Jane in the 29-hour reading of FEMALE TROUBLES directed by Scott Ellis.
Roles at UofM include Nickie in SWEET CHARITY (directed by Mark Madama, and choreographed by Linda Goodrich) and Lady Jackie in ME AND MY GIRL (directed and choreographed by Linda Goodrich). In the summer of 2018, she made her professional debut at Music Theatre Wichita, where she performed in SISTER ACT, GUYS AND DOLLS, PIPPIN and THE LITTLE MERMAID. At Music Theatre Wichita she worked with choreographers Robert Hartwell and Mara Greer… as well as Emmy nominated director/choreographer Al Blackstone. Also, while there, she played high school bully Savannah Sweetzer in the premiere of Disney’s FREAKY FRIDAY (directed by Wayne Bryant and choreographed by Brian J. Marcum).
McKenzie is thrilled to continue the pursuit of her professional career and hopes you’ll get a chance to see her as Glinda at the Gershwin Theatre where she will be performing through March 3, 2024 eight times a week!
