McKenzie Kurtz is a New York based actress best known for her work on Broadway. She most recently starred as “Cassandra” in THE HEART OF ROCK AND ROLL on Broadway. Prior roles include “Glinda” in Broadway’s 20thAnniversary of WICKED, and “Anna” in Disney’s FROZEN on Broadway.
She also has appeared in NBC’s Annie Live! as the Star-to-Be, and as “Heather” in Marvel’s new television series SHE HULK on Disney+. In the fall of 2021, she performed in the out-of-town tryout of TRADING PLACES directed by Kenny Leon.
She graduated from the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance with a BFA in Musical Theatre in 2019. Prior roles include Ariel in FOOTLOOSE directed by Christian Borle at The Muny. Shortly after, she traveled to Williamstown Theatre Festival where she played Jane in the 29-hour reading of FEMALE TROUBLES directed by Scott Ellis.
Roles at UofM include Nickie in SWEET CHARITY (directed by Mark Madama, and choreographed by Linda Goodrich) and Lady Jackie in ME AND MY GIRL (directed and choreographed by Linda Goodrich). In the summer of 2018, she made her professional debut at Music Theatre Wichita, where she performed in SISTER ACT, GUYS AND DOLLS, PIPPIN and THE LITTLE MERMAID. At Music Theatre Wichita she worked with choreographers Robert Hartwell and Mara Greer… as well as Emmy nominated director/choreographer Al Blackstone. Also, while there, she played high school bully Savannah Sweetzer in the premiere of Disney’s FREAKY FRIDAY (directed by Wayne Bryant and choreographed by Brian J. Marcum).
